Polycarbonate Roof Replacement – Product Update
Polycarbonate roofing has undergone a revolution. The newer polycarbonate products are high tech wonders that give an outdoor space a touch of architectural glamour. Polycarbonate still comes in traditional roofing profiles such as corrugated and Klip-lok, but the newer multiwall and high-end glass lookalike products provide a totally different look to your outdoor space.
Great UV resistance makes today’s polycarbonate products pleasant to sit under too. Better yet, they won’t turn milky and brittle over time either like the older products.
Want curves? We can even do this with today’s polycarbonate products.
Polycarbonate Roof Replacement - Polypiu
As polycarbonate installers, Roofrite has access to the recognisable name products such as Ampelite and Palram. We’ve recently added Polypiu to our supplier list so we are now able to offer our clients installation PolyPiU polycarbonate products. One of the benefits of this Italian designed product is that it comes in 2m wide sheets. This means we can cut it to sit over existing rafters eliminating the need for additional battens to be installed and therefore creating a much slicker finish. PolyPiu also has a simple joining system making installation a smooth process.
Thinking about Polycarbonate for your outdoor area? Have a look at these two Polypiu projects we’ve recently completed in Coburg and Brunswick.
Coburg - The Brief
The above pic is the original structure we were called out to quote on. The client wanted to replace the existing polycarb roof with a more modern flat sheet product. The verandah structure is roughly 6m x 2m or 11m2. While the roof was off, the client also wanted to paint the timber to a lighter colour.
Coburg - The Result
The above pictures show the end result. Painting the structure has certainly helped give the whole thing a lift and the new roof looks thoroughly modern. A great result for around $4,500.
Brunswick – The Brief
The above pic shows the original pergola roof. Aged. Milky. Mouldy. The client wanted to replace it with something more modern. This verandah structure is roughly 17m2.
Brunswick – The Result
The above pictures show the newly installed Polypiu Carbopiu product in Opal. The new roof has the effect of returning a sturdiness to the structure and the Opal color gives a great luminosity to the area. Another great result for around $4,500 too.
