Hail Damaget o Hundreds of Polycarbonate Roofs and Skylights
Once again, Melbourne and its suburbs such as Doncaster, Warrandyte, Surrey Hills, Glen Iris were hit hard with massive hail stones in January and February 2020 causing untold hail damage to hundreds of polycarbonate roof and skylights.
Five months later Roofrite is still receiving calls to inspect hail damaged polycarbonate roofs or hail damaged skylights.
Hail damaged polycarbonate is a pretty easy fix as we can replace like for like. The popular options are Laserlite 2000 and Laserlite 3000. These products offer a 10 year hail damage warranty so make a good replacement option. They also offer a great range of colours and profiles.
An alternative to Laserlite is a twinwall or multiwall polycarbonate. These two products are more expensive but do offer an alternative to a typical traditional corrugated roofing profile. They also offer a seamless look and utilise a joiner system which the roof sheets slip into so you won’t see any fixings when viewed from below.
We recommend you obtain your quote to replace your hail damaged polycarbonate prior to accepting any cash payout offer from your insurer. It may be much lower than the actual cost of replacement.
What about hail damaged skylight replacement options?
We recommend replacing any hail damaged acrylic domes with Velux FCM Skylights. They come in 10 sizes and at least 3 of the sizes are a perfect direct replacement for a dome. Better yet, they offer double glazing as a standard feature and start at only $263 inc GST (installation is extra).
