One or Two Opening Velux Skylights?
The short answer is no! When positioning two Velux Skylights side by side in a room, we usually recommend having only one Velux skylight openable and making the other one a fixed Velux skylight.
Why? We make this recommendation primarily to keep costs down. Having multiple skylights installed rapidly increases the project budget. What kind of saving are we talking? The purchase price of an average sized Velux solar openable skylight, say VSS M04 780x980mm, will cost $2,431 versus a Velux fixed (non-openable) skylight FS M08, will cost $936. That's a price difference and, more importantly, a potential saving of $1,495.
